wmckay57 - Send me an email at tunk$#$#lake@aol.com and I'll tell you how to deal with your issue. Let me just say that GDM handled a similar problem for me with absolutely no hassle. They were very polite and prompt. I am not affiliated with them whatsoever and have no stake in making them look good, so any paranoiacs out there, just take a breath and move on.

you could sell it to nagdot for twice the selling price and then get 2 sets(depending on availability)

GDM doesn't have any more! The capitalist pigs are selling their Fillmore West box sets for 400-500 bucks each on Ebay's auction site.

I didn't have any trouble replacing a disk, in one of my Dick's Picks orders; but then again these are mass produced and not limited editions...

You might get more direct help by calling customer service. BTW it's not likely that a random forum member would have had an extra d5 shipped with theirs, so pressing GDP for a resolution on your flawed purchase is the best bet.

You should contact customer service by phone and ask for Margaret. She helped me get one of my discs in this boxed set replaced when it arrived scratched.

Still, a frustrating experience. I had to call several times, and had to wait on hold for up to 30 minutes before speaking to a customer service representative. All in all it took over a month an a half to get the disc replaced, but it finally happened.

I don't know what is happening with their quality control there. Like I said, one of the discs arrived scratched and several others had huge fingerprints on the playing surface when the product arrived.

Good luck.

Thanks for the information. I live in Australia but I still might make the call. Hope they don't keep me on hold for 30 minutes though

You could also try emailing again with "ATTN: Margaret" in the subject line. She is really good about helping people out.

I had EXACTLY the same problem - 2 Disc Fours and not Disc Five. I sent an email through the GDM webpage, and Margaret very, very promptly provided a new Disc Five. I did not have to call on the telephone. She was very friendly about it.

I mailed Margaret at GDM about the missing disc5 and a copy was shipped to me in Australia within 4 days. Thanks for the advice. A happy ending to the whole saga, kinda restores your faith

I only mentioned the original price of the box set; so people can see that those aution sites arejust a rip off. Would you pay 75 bucks for three CDs; when you can get them and 7 more for another 23 bucks?

How long ago was this 10CD box released? Just curious. And to how long it took for them to sell out.

The complete 10 CD box set went on sale at the end of July. They sold out in about 2 months and the ad was pulled from dead.net. Delivery was in November.

The entire thing cost me just about 98 bucks including taxes and shipping. In that case, you can see that Best Buy's mass produced 3 disc versiuon is way over priced according to an earlier post...

A previous poster was probably incorrect, as the list price of the 3-disc selection from the run is ~$30 at Best Buy, according to their online info.

i am talkin about the 5 disc set that was at best buy, it was 69 or 79 bux. the only grateful dead i couldnt find is wat i was lookin for, which was truckin up to buffalo. the 10 disc, 12 disc, and both fillmore west sets were there, along with almost every other box and dvd set was at this particular store. sold out means all units were sold it doesnt mean all were bought by fans. my area is not a big deadhead area. it took till 11-11-04 for any dead related band(ratdog)to show up in the history of the grateful dead ,that is prolly why the set is still sittin there

There is no 5-disc box set of the Fillmore run. Perhaps you were confused by the "So Many Roads" 5-disc set? It contains a single track from 2/27/69, among much else.

It's about disc 5 out of 10 from the 10CD fillmore run 1969 collection. There is no 5 CD collection being sold AFAIK.

Hey Now, The complete Live Dead concerts, that the breakthough Album Live Dead came from are included in the five set CD collection. This is sold out in a limited edition, for all real fans who want the entire run not just the cuts found on the old record. I got that double record from Columbia Record club, back in 1969. It was FREE for joining the record club. Dead never succeeded selling many records, that was not their focus.

I think the band wanted to make music, The Music Business wanted to sell record, like they do now. Deadheads got to go and tape all they wanted, All they needed was a ticket. Wise business choice,as the sellout of a those collectable, memorable shows of 37 years ago prove. And no band member ever graduated from university. Outsmarted and outlasted most of the skeptics. Jah Bless the Grateful Dead!

One Love

The limited edition was released as a *10* CD box set (with a 1 disc bonus CD BTW). If folks are going to be confused, get that way over 10 vs 11, not 10 vs 5. ;)
